Synopsis for Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters:
Gusty northeast gales and rough seas continue through Tuesday due to
a low pressure system well off shore. Midweek a weak area of high
pressure builds over the waters, diminishing wind. Another low
pressure system tracks south and east of the waters Thursday into
Friday.
 
Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank
National Marine Sanctuary:
 
TODAY...NE winds around 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 8 to
11 ft.
.TONIGHT...NE winds around 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas
10 to 14 ft.
.TUE...NE winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 10 to
14 ft. Patchy fog. A chance of rain.
.TUE NIGHT...NE winds 15 to 20 kt, diminishing to 10 to 15 kt
after midnight. Gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 9 to 12 ft, subsiding to
7 to 10 ft after midnight. A chance of rain. Patchy fog in the
evening.
.WED...N winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming S in the afternoon. Seas 6 to
9 ft. A chance of rain.
.WED NIGHT...S winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming SW after midnight. Seas
5 to 7 ft. A chance of rain in the evening, then rain likely
after midnight.
