Synopsis for Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters:
Dry, pleasant boating weather both today and tomorrow with high
pressure over the Great Lakes and weak low pressure over the
maritimes. This weak maritime low may retrograde back toward New
England Thu and Fri, yielding a few scattered showers near shore.
Otherwise, dry weather and good vsby prevail. By the weekend, the
tropical system currently approaching Puerto Rico, likely
strengthens into a hurricane (Ernesto) and then tracks northward
near Bermuda Friday. This tropical cyclone likely passes well
southeast of New England over the weekend, but increasing southerly
swells will impact the RI and MA waters.
