Synopsis for Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters:
Low pres well south of New England will push further offshore today
into tonight. Expect decreasing NE winds by tonight, although
significant wave heights will still be elevated. Large area of high
pres then builds in for the weekend and remains in place through
early next week.
Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary:

.TODAY...NE winds 20 to 25 kt, diminishing to 15 to 20 kt this
afternoon. Seas 5 to 7 ft. Wave Detail: E 7 ft at 10 seconds and
NE 5 ft at 6 seconds.
.TONIGHT...NE winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt, becoming
N 5 to 10 kt after midnight. Seas 5 to 7 ft. Wave Detail: E 7 ft
at 10 seconds and NE 2 ft at 5 seconds.
.SAT...NW winds around 5 kt, becoming SW in the afternoon. Seas
4 to 6 ft. Wave Detail: E 6 ft at 10 seconds.
