A cold front approaches from the W today and crosses the waters late
tonight and Thu morning. High pres builds over the waters Fri, then
another cold front will move across New Eng and the coastal waters
late Sat and Sat evening. High pres returns on Sun.
 
Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary:

THROUGH LATE TONIGHT...
 
.TODAY...S winds 10 to 15 kt, increasing to 15 to 20 kt this
afternoon. Gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft. Wave Detail: S 3 ft
at 4 seconds and SE 2 ft at 9 seconds. Areas of fog this morning
with vsby 1 NM or less.
.TONIGHT...S winds 15 to 20 kt, becoming SW 10 to 15 kt after
midnight. Gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft. Wave Detail: SE 3 ft
at 4 seconds and SE 2 ft at 8 seconds. Patchy fog after midnight
with vsby 1 to 3 NM.
.THU...N winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 2 to
4 ft. Wave Detail: N 2 ft at 4 seconds and W 2 ft at 4 seconds.
Patchy fog in the morning with vsby 1 to 3 NM.
.THU NIGHT...N winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas
4 to 6 ft. Wave Detail: N 5 ft at 5 seconds and SE 5 ft at
11 seconds.
.FRI...N winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt, diminishing to
5 to 10 kt in the afternoon. Seas 4 to 6 ft. Wave Detail: NE 5 ft
at 6 seconds and SE 5 ft at 11 seconds.
.FRI NIGHT...SW winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft. Wave Detail: SE
5 ft at 11 seconds and NE 3 ft at 6 seconds.
.SAT THROUGH SUN NIGHT...NW winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to
25 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft.
 
Seas are reported as significant wave height, which is the
average of the highest third of the waves. Individual wave
heights may be more than twice the significant wave height..
