Synopsis for Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters:
 
Dry for most of Thursday, but a weak low pressure system moves
across the outer southern waters and leads to areas of light snow
showers. A more active system will cross the waters Saturday into
Sunday.
 
Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary:
 
.TODAY...W winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt, becoming SW
this afternoon. Seas 2 to 3 ft. Wave Detail: NW 3 ft at 5 seconds
and E 1 foot at 11 seconds.
.TONIGHT...SW winds around 10 kt, becoming W after midnight. Seas
around 2 ft. Wave Detail: SW 1 foot at 3 seconds and NE 1 foot at
4 seconds.
.FRI...NW winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas around 2 ft. Wave Detail: NW
2 ft at 3 seconds.
.FRI NIGHT...W winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming SW 10 to 15 kt with
gusts up to 20 kt after midnight. Seas 2 to 3 ft. Wave Detail: SW
2 ft at 3 seconds and N 1 foot at 3 seconds.
.SAT...S winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 2 to
4 ft. Wave Detail: SE 4 ft at 6 seconds and E 1 foot at
9 seconds. A chance of showers in the afternoon.
.SAT NIGHT...S winds 15 to 20 kt, becoming SW 10 to 15 kt after
midnight. Gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft. Wave Detail: S 3 ft
at 6 seconds and E 1 foot at 13 seconds. Showers likely in the
evening.
.SUN...NW winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt. Seas 3 to
5 ft. A chance of rain.
.SUN NIGHT...N winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas
5 to 7 ft. Snow. Vsby 1 to 3 NM.

7 ft. Light freezing spray. A chance of snow.
.MON NIGHT...W winds around 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas
