Synopsis for Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters:
 
A weak low pres will move across the far srn waters, bringing light
snow showers to the area this evening and throughout tonight. NE
swells this evening will gradually veer to SW Fri morning across the
S and E waters. Freezing spray possible early next week.
 
Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary:
 
.TODAY...NW winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas around 2 ft. Wave Detail: NW
2 ft at 3 seconds. A slight chance of snow this morning.
.TONIGHT...SW winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming S 15 to 20 kt with gusts
up to 25 kt after midnight. Seas 2 to 3 ft. Wave Detail: SW 2 ft
at 3 seconds and N 1 foot at 4 seconds.
.SAT...S winds 15 to 20 kt, increasing to 20 to 25 kt in the
afternoon. Gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft. Wave Detail: S 4 ft
at 4 seconds and E 3 ft at 7 seconds. Rain likely in the
afternoon.
.SAT NIGHT...S winds 15 to 20 kt, becoming W 10 to 15 kt after
midnight. Gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft. Wave Detail: S 3 ft
at 6 seconds and E 1 foot at 10 seconds. Patchy fog. Rain likely
in the evening with vsby 1 to 3 NM.
.SUN...N winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 2 to
4 ft. Wave Detail: NW 3 ft at 4 seconds and E 3 ft at 6 seconds.
A chance of rain in the afternoon.
.SUN NIGHT...N winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas
4 to 6 ft. Wave Detail: N 5 ft at 5 seconds and SE 3 ft at
9 seconds. Snow. A chance of rain in the evening. Vsby 1 NM or
less.
.MON...NW winds around 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 5 to
7 ft. Light freezing spray. A chance of snow showers. Vsby 1 to
3 NM.
.MON NIGHT...W winds around 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas
5 to 7 ft. Light freezing spray.
.TUE...W winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 3 to
5 ft. Light freezing spray.
.TUE NIGHT...W winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas
3 to 4 ft. Light freezing spray. A chance of snow showers.
 
Seas are reported as significant wave height, which is the
average of the highest third of the waves. Individual wave
heights may be more than twice the significant wave height.
