Low pres will track over the waters Fri into Sat with gusty SW winds
and building seas Fri afternoon and evening. A period of gusty N-NW
winds is possible Sat as the system pulls away. Calmer conditions
Sunday under high pressure. The next system arrives Monday.
 
Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary:
 
..GALE WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON...
 
.TODAY...SW winds 20 to 25 kt, diminishing to 15 to 20 kt this
afternoon. Gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft. Wave Detail: S 5 ft
at 6 seconds and SE 1 foot at 11 seconds. A slight chance of rain
this morning, then rain this afternoon with vsby 1 NM or less.
.TONIGHT...N winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming NE 15 to 20 kt with gusts
up to 25 kt after midnight. Seas 2 to 4 ft. Wave Detail: NE 3 ft
at 5 seconds and SE 3 ft at 11 seconds. Rain. Vsby 1 NM or less.
.SAT...N winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 5 to
7 ft. Wave Detail: N 6 ft at 5 seconds and SE 3 ft at 11 seconds.
A chance of snow in the morning. Light freezing spray likely in
the afternoon.
.SAT NIGHT...N winds 15 to 20 kt, diminishing to 10 to 15 kt
after midnight. Gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft. Wave Detail: N
6 ft at 6 seconds and SE 3 ft at 11 seconds. Light freezing spray
likely in the evening.
.SUN...NE winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming S 10 to 15 kt with gusts up
to 20 kt in the afternoon. Seas 2 to 4 ft. Wave Detail: NE 4 ft
at 7 seconds and SE 2 ft at 10 seconds.
.SUN NIGHT...S winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas
3 to 5 ft. Wave Detail: S 4 ft at 4 seconds and NE 2 ft at
6 seconds. Snow likely with a chance of rain in the evening, then
rain after midnight. Vsby 1 to 3 NM.
.MON...SW winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 3 to
5 ft. Rain likely.
.MON NIGHT AND TUE...W winds 20 to 25 kt, becoming NW 15 to
20 kt. Gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft.
.TUE NIGHT...NW winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas
3 to 5 ft.
 
Seas are reported as significant wave height, which is the
average of the highest third of the waves. Individual wave
heights may be more than twice the significant wave height.
