Synopsis for Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters:
 
Low pressure over southeast Canada and high pressure over the Mid
Atlantic region Sunday, will provide dry weather with modest west
winds across the southern New England waters. High pressure then
builds over MA and RI Monday, lingering into Tuesday. A cold front
then sweeps across the waters Tuesday night, followed by high
pressure Wednesday into Thursday. Weak low pressure along a warm
front may impact the MA/RI waters late next week.
 
Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary:

.TODAY...W winds 15 to 20 kt, becoming N 10 to 15 kt this
afternoon. Gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 2 to 3 ft. Wave Detail: SW
3 ft at 4 seconds and E 1 foot at 10 seconds.
.TONIGHT...SE winds 10 to 15 kt. Gusts up to 20 kt after
midnight. Seas around 2 ft. Wave Detail: SE 2 ft at 3 seconds and
W 2 ft at 4 seconds.
.TUE...S winds 10 to 15 kt, increasing to 15 to 20 kt in the
afternoon. Gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft. Wave Detail: SE
3 ft at 4 seconds and E 1 foot at 9 seconds.
.TUE NIGHT...S winds 15 to 20 kt, becoming W after midnight.
Gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft. Wave Detail: S 3 ft at
5 seconds and E 1 foot at 9 seconds.
.WED...N winds 15 to 20 kt, diminishing to 10 to 15 kt in the
afternoon. Gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft. Wave Detail: N 3 ft
at 5 seconds and SE 3 ft at 9 seconds.
.WED NIGHT...NE winds around 10 kt, becoming E after midnight.
Seas 3 to 4 ft. Wave Detail: SE 4 ft at 9 seconds and N 2 ft at
5 seconds.
.THU AND THU NIGHT...SE winds 10 to 15 kt. Gusts up to 20 kt.
Seas 3 to 4 ft. A chance of rain.
.FRI AND FRI NIGHT...E winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming SE. Seas 3 to
4 ft.
 
Seas are reported as significant wave height, which is the
average of the highest third of the waves. Individual wave
heights may be more than twice the significant wave height..
