North Cargo Pier 2 – Max. draft – 39’06 (Vessels over 650’ restricted to 38’06)
 
A vessel with a draft that does not exceed 38 00″may transit the channels and basins at any time and stage of the tide. Vessels that have a draft in excess of 38’00″are considered “tide jobs” and will be advised by the Harbormaster and Canaveral Pilots of the time of boarding with consideration given to the stage of the tide. These vessels are generally scheduled to begin an inbound transit two hours prior to high tide.  A minimum under keel clearance of 2’6” is required during the transit of the channels and basins. 09/04/24 - Wednesday, September 4: SpaceX Starlink 8-11 - Though SpaceX has not publicly confirmed this mission's existence, a National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency navigational warning indicates a rocket launch window will open Wednesday morning. More details:  Mission: A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch a batch of Starlink internet satellites from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.  Launch window: 8:59 a.m. to 2:29 p.m.  Location: Launch Complex 40.  Trajectory: Northeast.  Local sonic boom: No.  Booster landing: Drone ship out in the Atlantic Ocean.  Live coverage: Starts 90 minutes before liftoff at floridatoday.com/space.
 
09/04/24 - No earlier than Wednesday, September 4: SpaceX Polaris Dawn - Mission: A SpaceX Falcon 9 will lift Shift4 founder and entrepreneur Jared Isaacman's four-civilian crew on a SpaceX Dragon orbital mission. This mission will bring the debut of the SpaceX EVA spacesuit, as well as the first spacewalk by a private company.  Launch: SpaceX has not announced a new time or date. The Federal Aviation Administration shows a potential launch window opening at 3:33 a.m., but weather forecasts remain poor for the crew's Dragon capsule splashdown.  Trajectory: Northeast.  Location: Pad 39A at Kennedy Space Center.  Live coverage: Starts two hours before liftoff at floridatoday.com/space.

09/24/24 -  No earlier than Tuesday, September 24: NASA Crew-9  The crew of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-9 mission to the International Space Station poses for a photo during training in Hawthorne, California.  Mission: Only two of the original crew of four — NASA astronauts Zena Cardman, commander; Nick Hague, pilot; and Stephanie Wilson, mission specialist; along with Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov, mission specialist — will launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 to the International Space Station for a science expedition. 10/13/24 - No earlier than Sunday, October 13: Blue Origin New Glenn - A Blue Origin New Glenn test rocket was upended on the pad for the first time in February at Launch Complex 36 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
Mission: Blue Origin will launch their powerhouse New Glenn rocket on its maiden flight from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. This first launch will send NASA's ESCAPADE mission to Mars.  Launch window: TBA

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

1. Caribbean Sea:
A tropical wave is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms
over Hispaniola and portions of the central Caribbean Sea. 
This system is expected to move westward, and a tropical depression
could form when it reaches the western Caribbean Sea and the
southwestern Gulf of Mexico late this week or over the weekend.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...medium...40 percent.


2. Eastern Tropical Atlantic Ocean:
A tropical wave over the far eastern Atlantic is producing
disorganized showers and thunderstorms.  Environmental conditions
are forecast to become a little more conducive for development, and
a tropical depression could form later this week while the
disturbance moves slowly west-northwestward or northwestward over
the eastern tropical Atlantic Ocean.  This system could produce
locally heavy rains and gusty winds across portions of the Cabo
Verde Islands in a day or two.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...medium...40 percent.


3. Central Tropical Atlantic Ocean:
Another tropical wave located about midway between the west coast
of Africa and the Lesser Antilles is producing disorganized showers
and thunderstorms.  Some slow development is possible during the
next couple of days while the system moves west-northwestward.  By
the end of the week, however, environmental conditions are expected
to become unfavorable for additional development.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...low...10 percent.
