Synopsis for Stonington ME to Merrimack River Ma out to 25 NM. Low pressure gradually strengthens and moves northeastward along the New England coast today. Northeasterly gales develop today as the system tracks through the Gulf of Maine. Winds and seas will diminish on Friday as high pressure builds over the region. A stronger system likely tracks northeastward along the coastline on Sunday, with southeasterly gales possible from this system. High pressure then builds across the waters early next week behind the departing low.

Port / Terminal Restrictions

Below please find the “Blackout dates” for High Water transits to Bucksport for the 2023-2024 Fall/Winter season.  These are the dates on which no high-water transits (drafts in excess of 28') can be conducted to Bucksport due to a lack of daylight coinciding with the time of High Water.  Low water transits are still possible on these dates at drafts of 28' or less, depending upon the height of tide.  Dates listed as “marginal” may permit a deep draft transit if conditions are favorable; they should not be assumed to be available.  Please keep these dates in mind for planning purposes.

March 19- Marginal, wx permitting only
