Synopsis for Stonington ME to Merrimack River Ma out to 25 NM. Low pressure lingers across the Canadian Maritimes through midweek, keeping a persistent northwesterly flow across the region. An area of low pressure moves eastward into the Gulf of Maine Wednesday night and strengthens as it moves into New Brunswick on Thursday. High pressure builds from the west behind this low, with westerly gales possible late in the week. The high settles across the waters next weekend as a storm develops off the Carolina coast.
