Maintenance Dredging
Dredging will be conducted in Marcus Hook Range and Marcus Hook Anchorage (No. 7) on the Delaware River from November 11, 2024, through approximately March 15, 2025.
Vessels desiring to anchor within Marcus Hook Anchorage must obtain permission from the COTP at least 24 hours in advance, at (215) 271-4807. The COTP will permit one vessel at a time on a “first come, first served” basis in the lower portion of the anchorage, with preference given to those vessels greater than 650’ in overall length.

...GALE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS EVENING...
 
* WHAT...West winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt and seas
  3 to 6 ft.
 
* WHERE...Coastal waters from Great Egg Inlet to Cape May NJ out
  20 nm, Coastal waters from Cape May NJ to Cape Henlopen DE out
  20 nm and Coastal waters from Cape Henlopen to Fenwick Island
  DE out 20 nm.
 
* WHEN...Until 6 PM EST this evening.
 
* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
  capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
 
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tide departures will drop considerably
  today. By the low tide tonight, tide departures will be near 1
  foot below normal along the Atlantic coasts and Delaware Bay.
  This will result in areas of low water that could make
  navigation difficult in shallow waters. Gale force gusts may
  linger into Thursday night, so an extension to the warning may
  be needed.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
 
Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for hazardous conditions.

SYNOPSIS FOR THE COASTAL WATERS FROM SANDY HOOK NJ TO FENWICK  ISLAND DE AND FOR DELAWARE BAY
 
High pressure builds southwest of the area overnight before
moving offshore on Friday. Weak low pressure passes through the
Mid- Atlantic late Friday, followed by a cold front Friday
night. High pressure will be in control through the weekend. Low
pressure approaches and passes through the Mid-Atlantic early
in the new work week. High pressure returns thereafter.
