Maintenance Dredging
Dredging will be conducted in Marcus Hook Range and Marcus Hook Anchorage (No. 7) on the Delaware River from November 11, 2024, through approximately March 15, 2025.
Vessels desiring to anchor within Marcus Hook Anchorage must obtain permission from the COTP at least 24 hours in advance, at (215) 271-4807. The COTP will permit one vessel at a time on a “first come, first served” basis in the lower portion of the anchorage, with preference given to those vessels greater than 650’ in overall length.

* WHAT...West winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 35 kt expected.
 
* WHERE...In Delaware Bay Waters, Delaware Bay waters north of
  East Point NJ to Slaughter Beach DE and Delaware Bay waters
  south of East Point NJ to Slaughter Beach DE. In Atlantic
  coastal waters, Coastal waters from Great Egg Inlet to Cape
  May NJ out 20 nm, Coastal waters from Cape May NJ to Cape
  Henlopen DE out 20 nm and Coastal waters from Cape Henlopen to
  Fenwick Island DE out 20 nm.
 
* WHEN...From 11 PM this evening to 7 AM EST Thursday.
 
* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
  capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
 
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds along with an abrupt
  wind shift to westerly should occur with the passage of a cold
  front overnight Wednesday night.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
 
Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for hazardous conditions.

SYNOPSIS FOR THE COASTAL WATERS FROM SANDY HOOK NJ TO FENWICK
A warm front will progress north across parts of the region
today. Low pressure and an associated strong cold front moves
into our region tonight and Thursday with some much needed
rain and, in the higher terrain, snow. Low pressure then
lingers across the Northeast into the weekend with much colder
air before moving into the Canadian Maritimes by the end of the
weekend. High pressure then arrives for later Sunday and
especially Monday, followed by a cold front on Tuesday.
