Maintenance Dredging
Dredging will be conducted in Marcus Hook Range and Marcus Hook Anchorage (No. 7) on the Delaware River from November 11, 2024, through approximately March 15, 2025.
Vessels desiring to anchor within Marcus Hook Anchorage must obtain permission from the COTP at least 24 hours in advance, at (215) 271-4807. The COTP will permit one vessel at a time on a “first come, first served” basis in the lower portion of the anchorage, with preference given to those vessels greater than 650’ in overall length.

  abnormally low water levels expected.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, from 1 PM this afternoon
  to 6 PM EST this evening. For the Gale Warning, from 6 PM this
  evening to 6 AM EST Friday. For the Low Water Advisory, from 3
  PM Thursday to midnight EST Thursday night.
 
* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
  capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. Below normal
  water levels will result in hazardous navigating conditions.
 
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong southwest winds will shift west
  behind a strong cold front Thursday morning. The front may be
  accompanied by rain or snow showers, which could restrict
  visibility, as well as brief wind gusts up to 50 kt. The strong
  offshore winds will result in abnormally low water during the
  Thursday late afternoon to evening low tide, which could make
  navigation difficult in shallow waters.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
 
Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for hazardous conditions.
 
Mariners should navigate shallow waters with extreme caution due

SYNOPSIS FOR THE COASTAL WATERS FROM SANDY HOOK NJ TO FENWICK  ISLAND DE AND FOR DELAWARE BAY
 
High pressure centered over the Appalachians early this morning
will continue to dominate our weather through the first part of
the day before sliding off to the south and east late day as
low pressure moves into the Great Lakes region. This
strengthening low will track to our north tonight and Thursday,
pushing a strong cold front across our area early Thursday. Cold
and dry high pressure will build into the Ohio Valley Friday
through Saturday before weakening into our area through Sunday.
The next low pressure system looks to affect the area early next
week.
