Maintenance Dredging
Dredging will be conducted in Marcus Hook Range and Marcus Hook Anchorage (No. 7) on the Delaware River from November 11, 2024, through approximately March 15, 2025.
Vessels desiring to anchor within Marcus Hook Anchorage must obtain permission from the COTP at least 24 hours in advance, at (215) 271-4807. The COTP will permit one vessel at a time on a “first come, first served” basis in the lower portion of the anchorage, with preference given to those vessels greater than 650’ in overall length.
 
C&D Canal closed
Effective 12/10/24 at 0920 hours, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has closed the C&D Canal to all vessel traffic due to fog.

  kt and seas 7 to 12 ft expected.
 
* WHERE...Coastal waters from Great Egg Inlet to Cape May NJ out
  20 nm, Coastal waters from Cape May NJ to Cape Henlopen DE out
  20 nm and Coastal waters from Cape Henlopen to Fenwick Island
  DE out 20 nm.
 
* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, from 1 AM to 6 AM EST
  Wednesday. For the Gale Warning, from 6 AM Wednesday to 6 AM
  EST Thursday.
 
* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
  capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
 
Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.

SYNOPSIS FOR THE COASTAL WATERS FROM SANDY HOOK NJ TO FENWICK  ISLAND DE AND FOR DELAWARE BAY
A weak ridge of high pressure will be across the area today.
Following that, low pressure over the Great Lakes will track
east and intensifies over the area on Wednesday. A strong cold
front passes through the area Wednesday night through Thursday
morning as the low departs. High pressure returns to close out
the week. Another system may affect the area early next week.

TODAY
S winds around 5 kt, increasing to 5 to 10 kt late this
morning and afternoon. Seas 2 to 3 ft. Wave Detail: S 3 ft at
7 seconds and SE 1 foot at 9 seconds. Patchy fog until late
afternoon. A slight chance of rain late. Vsby 1 to 3 NM until
late afternoon.
 
TONIGHT
S winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt, increasing
to 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt after midnight. Seas 2 to
3 ft, building to 3 to 5 ft after midnight. Wave Detail: S 3 ft
at 5 seconds and SE 1 foot at 9 seconds, becoming S 5 ft at
6 seconds. Rain likely in the evening, then rain after midnight.
 
WED
S winds 20 to 25 kt, increasing to 25 to 30 kt in the
afternoon. Seas 5 to 7 ft, building to 7 to 10 ft in the
afternoon. Wave Detail: S 7 ft at 7 seconds, becoming S 10 ft at
