Maintenance Dredging
Dredging will be conducted in Marcus Hook Range and Marcus Hook Anchorage (No. 7) on the Delaware River from November 11, 2024, through approximately March 15, 2025.
Vessels desiring to anchor within Marcus Hook Anchorage must obtain permission from the COTP at least 24 hours in advance, at (215) 271-4807. The COTP will permit one vessel at a time on a “first come, first served” basis in the lower portion of the anchorage, with preference given to those vessels greater than 650’ in overall length.

* WHERE...Coastal waters from Great Egg Inlet to Cape May NJ out
  20 nm, Coastal waters from Cape May NJ to Cape Henlopen DE out
  20 nm and Coastal waters from Cape Henlopen to Fenwick Island
  DE out 20 nm.
 
* WHEN...Until 6 AM EST Thursday.
 
* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
  capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
 
Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for hazardous conditions.

SYNOPSIS FOR THE COASTAL WATERS FROM SANDY HOOK NJ TO FENWICK  ISLAND DE AND FOR DELAWARE BAY
 
Strengthening low pressure across the area and an approaching
cold front will result in widespread heavy rainfall and blustery
conditions today. The cold front will push offshore tonight ushering
in much colder and drier air, along with continued breezy conditions
Thursday. High pressure returns into the weekend with gradually
moderating temperatures. Another weak system may impact the area
Sunday into Monday.

S winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt, increasing
to 30 to 35 kt with gusts up to 45 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft, building
to 8 to 11 ft this afternoon. Wave Detail: S 7 ft at 7 seconds,
becoming S 11 ft at 9 seconds. Rain likely with a slight chance
of tstms early this morning, then a chance of rain and tstms late
this morning. Rain with a slight chance of tstms this afternoon
with vsby 1 to 3 NM.
