Maintenance Dredging
Dredging will be conducted in Marcus Hook Range and Marcus Hook Anchorage (No. 7) on the Delaware River from November 11, 2024, through approximately March 15, 2025.
Vessels desiring to anchor within Marcus Hook Anchorage must obtain permission from the COTP at least 24 hours in advance, at (215) 271-4807. The COTP will permit one vessel at a time on a “first come, first served” basis in the lower portion of the anchorage, with preference given to those vessels greater than 650’ in overall length.

...GALE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EST FRIDAY...
 
* WHAT...Northwest winds 25 to 35 kt with gusts up to 40 kt and
  seas 4 to 7 ft.
 
* WHERE...Coastal waters from Cape May NJ to Cape Henlopen DE
  out 20 nm and Coastal waters from Cape Henlopen to Fenwick
  Island DE out 20 nm.
 
* WHEN...Until 4 AM EST Friday.
 
* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
  capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
 
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Periods of freezing spray possible through
  this morning. Abnormally low water near the low tides through
  Friday morning could make navigation difficult in shallow
  waters.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
 
Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for hazardous conditions.

SYNOPSIS FOR THE COASTAL WATERS FROM SANDY HOOK NJ TO FENWICK  ISLAND DE AND FOR DELAWARE BAY
 
Arctic high pressure well to our west will gradually build into
our region thru the end of the week and also weaken. An area of
low pressure is forecast to develop near the Texas Gulf coast
Thursday and track east or northeast and then exit off the Mid-
Atlantic coast during Saturday. High pressure then arrives for
Sunday, followed by a cold front early next week.
