Maintenance Dredging
Dredging will be conducted in Marcus Hook Range and Marcus Hook Anchorage (No. 7) on the Delaware River from November 11, 2024, through approximately March 15, 2025.
Vessels desiring to anchor within Marcus Hook Anchorage must obtain permission from the COTP at least 24 hours in advance, at (215) 271-4807. The COTP will permit one vessel at a time on a “first come, first served” basis in the lower portion of the anchorage, with preference given to those vessels greater than 650’ in overall length.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until noon EST today. For
  the Freezing Spray Advisory, until 4 PM EST this afternoon.
 
* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in freezing spray is hazardous.
  Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic components
  inoperative. Ice accretion on decks and superstructures may
  result in some loss of stability. Conditions will be hazardous
  to small craft.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
 
Mariners should prepare for ice accumulation on their vessel and
consider altering plans to avoid or mitigate these hazardous
conditions.
 
Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

ISLAND DE AND FOR DELAWARE BAY...
 
Arctic high pressure centered in the Ohio Valley this morning will
build over our area later today and tonight before moving offshore
into Thursday. A weak system is expected to remain offshore
Thursday, then a weak cold front moves through later Friday. High
pressure crests across our area Saturday before shifting to our
south, then a cold front arrives later Sunday. The front may stall
in our vicinity as an area of low pressure develops along it Monday
into Tuesday.
