Maintenance Dredging
Dredging will be conducted in Marcus Hook Range and Marcus Hook Anchorage (No. 7) on the Delaware River from November 11, 2024, through approximately March 15, 2025.
Vessels desiring to anchor within Marcus Hook Anchorage must obtain permission from the COTP at least 24 hours in advance, at (215) 271-4807. The COTP will permit one vessel at a time on a “first come, first served” basis in the lower portion of the anchorage, with preference given to those vessels greater than 650’ in overall length.

  with gusts up to 30 kt and seas 3 to 6 ft. For the Gale
  Warning, south winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt and
  seas 7 to 12 ft expected. For the Gale Watch, northwest winds
  20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt and seas 5 to 8 ft possible.
 
* WHERE...Coastal waters from Little Egg Inlet NJ to Fenwick
  Island DE out 20 nm.
 
* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 6 AM EST early this
  morning. For the Gale Warning, until midnight EST tonight. For
  the Gale Watch, from Thursday evening through Friday morning.
 
* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
  capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
 
Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.

 SYNOPSIS FOR THE COASTAL WATERS FROM SANDY HOOK NJ TO FENWICK
ISLAND DE AND FOR DELAWARE BAY...
 
A strong area of low pressure will approach from the west
tracking into the Great Lakes region today and towards western
Quebec by tomorrow. A strong cold front associated with the low
will pass through the region tomorrow night. High pressure
briefly returns for Thursday and Friday, ahead of another
sequence of low pressure systems and fronts that pass through
over the weekend. High pressure returns early next week.

S winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 35 kt, increasing
to 25 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt this afternoon. Seas 5 to
7 ft, building to 8 to 11 ft this afternoon. Wave Detail: S 7 ft
at 7 seconds, becoming S 11 ft at 8 seconds. A chance of showers
early this afternoon. Showers with a chance of tstms late with
vsby 1 to 3 NM.
 
TONIGHT
S winds 25 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt, becoming
SW 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt after midnight. Seas 8 to
11 ft, subsiding to 6 to 9 ft after midnight. Wave Detail: SE
