The restrictions for docking at Port Manatee are as follows. However, please contact the agents for any vessel with a draft of 37’06 to confirm actual tidal restrictions, as they change daily. (UPDATED 04/29/24)
Tampa Bay Pilots guidelines and/or handling for recommendations for vessels transiting the main shipping channel:

FEDERAL, STATE & LOCAL FILING REQUIREMENTS
96 Hours - advance notice of arrival required by USCG
72 Hours - The Harbormasters office requires a 72 hour minimum notice of a vessel arrival. Any time less than 72 hours will be considered short notice and could result in vessel's delay to berth.
48 Hours - advance receipt of crew list by Immigration for any vessel arriving from a foreign port, or arriving coast wise with detained crew.
24 Hours (minimum) - Foreign cargo must have manifest submitted to Customs & Border Patrol AMS.
24 Hours - advance fax of crew list and approved visitors required by Port Security Officer.
Port Security - All persons doing ship’s business within Port Manatee must have TWIC and a Port-issued ID Badge. Someone not having one or both must be escorted. Vehicles must have permanent company markings to be allowed onto any terminal.

Hurricane Alert: 4/SEASONAL – NO TROPICAL FORCE WINDS EXPECTED WITHIN 48 HOURS
800 AM EDT Wed Oct 16 2024 - For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
1. Central Tropical Atlantic (AL94): A broad area of low pressure located over the central tropical Atlantic is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. This system is forecast to move generally westward to west-orthwestward, and environmental conditions appear marginally conducive for gradual development during the latter part of this week. A tropical depression could form as the system moves near the Leeward and Virgin Islands late this week.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...medium...40 percent.

Some gradual development is possible if the system stays over water while it moves slowly northwestward towards Central America. Regardless of development, locally heavy rainfall is possible across portions of Central America later this week.
