Earlier this morning, a barge struck the Pelican Island Bridge.  As a result, U.S. Coast Guard has directed no vessel
traffic west of the Texas A&M dock and Texas International terminals.  The bridge is also closed to vehicular
traffic at this time.  The USCG, Galveston Fire Dept. and TCEQ are on scene.
