Port of Houston

July 19, 2024

Notices

The USCG closed the Houston Ship Channel at 1415/19th July at Light 122, in the vicinity of the Lynchburg Ferry, due to a sunken tow vessel. Efforts are underway to account for all crew, minimize pollution from fuel leakage and mitigate impact on channel traffic.

It is unknown how long the channel will remain closed, but salvage ops could take at least 48 hours. We will continue to update all as information is made available, thank you.
