Rememberance of Philip Moran

With deep sadness, Moran shares the passing of Philip Moran, former President of Moran Shipping Agencies and a fixture in the New England maritime community. Phil was at peace and surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. 

Phil joined Moran in 1963 as a boarding agent and held many positions over a career spanning nearly 60 years, including Operations Manager, Northeast Regional Manager, Vice President of Operations, President, and Member of the Board. In addition to his service at Moran, Phil served as an officer with both the Boston and Rhode Island Shipping Associations, Boston and Narragansett Bay Propeller Clubs, NAPA, and ASBA. His experience gave Phil a keen understanding of the Maritime industry, and this expertise guided countless agents throughout their time working with and learning from Phil. Phil Moran was a key figure in our company’s history, a mentor to many agents, and a friend to all those who met him.
